Matter versus vacuum oscillations at long-baseline accelerator neutrino experiments

چکیده
The neutrino oscillation probabilities at the long-baseline accelerator experiments are expected to be modified by matter effects. We search for evidence of such modification in data T2K and NO$\nu$A, fitting hypothesis (a) oscillations (b) vacuum oscillations. find that provide as good a fit Even extended runs with 5 years mode $(5 \nu)$ five anti-neutrino \bar{\nu})$, can {\bf not} make $3~\sigma$ distinction between proposed experiment DUNE, each \nu + rule out itself $5~\sigma$ if hierarchy is normal. If inverted, discrimination against requires combination \bar{\nu})$ T2K, \nova DUNE.

Investigation of Long Baseline Neutrino Oscillations from Experiments at KAON
The proposed KAON factory at the Triumf Laboratory in Vancouver, Canada provides a unique opportunity for high statistics long baseline neutrino oscillation experiments. Several possibilities are under active consideration. In this paper we describe the theoretical expectations for a very long baseline experiment in which the neutrinos are directed towards, and detected at the Superkamiokande d...
متن کاملOverview of Accelerator Long Baseline Neutrino Oscillation Experiments
There is renewed interest in performing a long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment using accelerator neutrinos because of a discrepancy between the measured and the predicted values of the ratio of electron to muon neutrinos produced in the upper atmosphere by cosmic rays. The approximate range in oscillation parameter space indicated by the Kamiokande atmospheric neutrino results and conf...

The motivation for possible future long baseline experiments is discussed. The proposed experiments as well as their physics potential is reviewed. Inv. Talk at Int. Workshop on Simulation and Analysis Methods for Large Neutrino Detectors, DESY Zeuthen, 6.-9.7.1998
متن کاملTesting LSND at long-baseline neutrino experiments
Recently it was suggested that two very different mass-squared differences play a role in atmospheric neutrino oscillations. The larger of these also accounts for the LSND result and the smaller of these also drives the solar neutrino oscillations. We consider the predictions of this scheme for long-baseline experiments. We find that high statistics experiments, such as MINOS, can observe a cle...
متن کاملEffects on Neutrino Oscillations in Long Baseline Experiments
We calculate matter effects on neutrino oscillations relevant for long baseline experiments. In particular, we compare the results obtained with constant density along the neutrino path versus results obtained by incorporating the actual density profiles in the Earth. We study the dependence of the oscillation signal on both E/∆m2atm and on the angles in the leptonic mixing matrix. We also comm...
